Good article. Using a kayak, I don't use a traditional tacklebag/box, and opt for the usual milk crate behind the seat. My XDS9 is toted in the front pocket of my pfd, utilizing the Alien Gear pocket holster rig.
I can agree with the "cheaper" guns going out on the water if you are in something that you could tip over and lose it. I have to have it on my person or "direct control" as they like to put it so the tackle box theory won't work for me. I am not worried about the fish, turtles or snakes that go by either. I am worried about the other bozos on the water though as I did have a bit of an "incident" many years ago.
