Taking up pipe smoking

I remember as a kid a guy my mom dated named Rick. He was a falconer and was going to take me on as his apprentice but it never happened unfortunately. Other than the intense birds of prey he had (a red tail hawk male and a fierce looking kestrel) he smoked a pipe and it has always stuck with me so 21 years later I'm trying it.
Any one else smoke a tobacco pipe?

I do on occasion. Borkum Riff is my jam.

Your lungs are the most sensitive organ in your body every second of the day.

Any smoking, pot, cigs & cigars have carcinogens in the smoke you inhale & that stuff is deposited into the lining of lungs, as well as degrading your lung capacity and making one more vulnerable to respiratory diseases.

Yul Brenner was gone when they aired this commercial, per his wishes.

When I was a kid we were all watch TV when this commercial came on by William Talman who played Hamilton Burger, the DA on the Perry Mason show. William Talman died four weeks after filming this commercial.

My Dad was a light smoker, but I turned around and asked him to stop smoking. He did & when I was 13 he had his first heart attack. The Drs said smokers who have heart attacks get a lot of fluid build up in their lungs because of the smoking, but my Dad had stopped early enough that he had little build up. We lost him 10 yrs later, but we had 10 more with him.

My grandfather smoked that. I feel his presence every time I get a whiff of it (which is not often).
When I empty a can I put it in my truck and throw pocket junk in it. Change, lighters, mag, etc.. Makes the truck smell nice. It is a great smell. I actually have some aftershave splashes that are similar. I must have 40 or 50 bottles and most of them have notes of leather, gunpowder and tobacco. The dude who owns Barrister and Mann and me are on a first name basis. The dude from PAA too.

This one is a favorite.

I am not one for colognes and that, but once in a while, a scent gets in your nose and you don't want to let it go. If what they describe is actually what it smells like...hmmmm. I hope I'm making sense. I'm three tequilas in after a particularly rough week.

Not colognes, aftershave. Menthol and alcohol to cool and soothe your skin and after dry down a nice, subtle scent. Nowhere near as strong as cologne.

My father died of smoking-related cancer. My mother died of smoking related cancer. My grandfather had a heart attack induced by smoking.

No. I don't smoke.

Ah, yes...I stand corrected. I do remember there is a difference. The husband rarely shaves and has horrendous allergies, so we don't do scents much here. But like I said, sometimes something gets in my nose and I don't want to let it go. There is a fine line where it can be too much, but once in a while...especially when they invoke good feelings/memories.
