testtest

Taurus G3+G3C clip trouble.

I received 2 clips with my new pistol, 15 and 17. The 15 shot clip holds 15 nicely, but, I can only get 16 in the clip marked 17. Am I missing something? Just trying to figure it out. Not a big deal, but, why would it be marked for 17 and only hold 16? Please help me out. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, and to the world of firearms in general. Just an informational so that you know proper terms, you have magazines not clips with your new pistol. Here this explains the difference, some people tend to get testy over the terms, this will save you some grief.

Now as to your issue, new magazine springs are often tight. It takes time for them to loosen up. Load and unload them a number of times and most likely you will be able to fit that last round in. On rare occasions they will get some manufacturing Grit inside and need to be pulled apart for cleaning, lots of instructional videos will be good to help you there.

A magazine reloading tool will help with loading tight magazines and save your thumb.

I see by your name you like camo. I wear camo occasionally in archery season sometimes I do sometimes I don't. Do not see much difference in my end results, which are generally good. But a lot of durable clothing is made in it for hunting. Welcome once again. Read lots, pay attention lots, and the good people here will bring a wealth of information to your fingertips.

one thing to do with new magazines is to load them up to the max (if you can) and let them sit, loaded for a few days.

i often go thru this nonsense with new magazines myself, i just load them as close to the max as possible and go shooting at the targets.

after a while, the spring "breaks in", and accepts the max number of cartridge's.

buy a magula uploader too if you can for that 9mm, they run about $30 at many online places and local gun stores.

one more thing, sometimes when i am at my large local gun store, i bust chops when a customer or 2 is near me, and i say things like, "yeah, my 1911 bullet clips need to be cleaned" or

"i need more 45 ACP bullets, i hope they have what i want"

this drives some aficionados standing nearby me, up the freaking wall.........and i couldn't be any happier, as i detest people standing nearby me, like i need thier approval or something, they can "kiss off"......

don't sweat the correct name of something, it'll come to you, then in the future, have a blast at it like i do.

Ohh one more thing, most important, do not hesitate to ask questions. The old adage there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers is true.

Questions and curiosity is how we learn, I hope I die before I stop learning...

Like mentioned, buy a Lula loader and be done with it. best money you will spend for a handgun. i too had trouble loading my 500 round clip thingys before i bought the loader. the spring will break in and it will get easier.
