A man armed with a handgun entered Pasadena High School, roughly 17 miles southeast of Houston. Around 6 p.m. local time on Saturday, the armed man fired his "small caliber weapon."

A man believed to be in his mid-20s was shot in his shoulder, according to People magazine. The injured man was rushed to a local hospital and is in stable condition, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Pasadena Police Department Chief Jerry Wright said at a news conference, "Within 60 seconds a suspect was disarmed and they prevented further shooting by this suspect."

Poor old guy. He probably has dementia. Or he really was being chased by someone. 🙁

Yeah...I got the impression from the quoted statement that he made that the fella had no idea where he was, what the situation was nor if anyone was really trying to shoot him.

He entered a school because of the phantom attacker. He did not realize who or what was around him and he attacked. There was no situational awareness on his part at all, IMHO.

I’ve seen my father in similar circumstances. Minus the gun and thinking someone is trying to kill him. If I was betting, I’d say the old guy has dementia.
