Locking storage something like that may make sense for some people.
Too many vehicles now days do not even have a locking glovebox anymore. But, even then, some vehicles heater/AC blower is right by glovebox leading to what besides melted candy bars and twinkies? Glovebox likely okay for HG's if locked though. 16 cup holders and no locking glovebox? Odd priority to me.

Not many locking glove boxes or center consoles that can’t be easily pried open. Even with bare hands.

Locks of any kind, including gloveboxes, only help keep honest people honest and help to keep young kids stay safer is about it. If someone made something, it can generally be disassembled with right tools.

When younger, one of my brothers at 5 years old, got past car door lock with screwdriver, was unscrewing airplane ventilator ductwork with a dime. Top notch mechanic now. He's a good guy.

Like CC, out of sight, out of mind is generally best policy.
