The .454 Casull: History and Performance

I have the Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull. When I bought and shot this beast, ammo was about $1.25 a round (I'm guessing when I bought the ammo (from Buffalo Bore), it was about 4-5 years ago). Now at $3.75 per round 😲, I'm wondering what my S&W 500 Magnum ammo is going to cost. Before pandemic ammo price increases, the most expensive (budget) ammo I bought, was $3.85 per round for my RPR 338 Laupa rifle (I wonder what the price goes for now (I'm too afraid to look 😭)).

Get ready for $4.50 at minimum for .338 Lap Mag. That's the cheapest I've seen. At least it was Nosler and not some off brand.

Thanks Benstt. Not quite as big a jump as 454 casull ammo it would seem, but almost a dollar more. Well, if you want to shoot these powerful and less common calibers, be prepared to pay more for their respective ammo, (or start reloading yourself).
