I seen and held an old 8 gauge one time, never fired one but the one i seen had a big ole hole. i imagine it would hurt to shoot.

Back in the 80's I almost bought an 8 or 10ga magnum pump from a local ffl. Don't quite remember the ga, but it had some bore to it.

My grandfather did some market hunting back around 1900. He had a punt gun and a 10 gauge. The 10 gauge was well worn and prone to doubling. Other than in the movies I don't recall ever seeing an 8 gauge.

You're shooting it wrong. Hold it against a tree not your shoulder.
