The Armory Life - Magazine.

Got my mail yesterday at the PO Box. I was upset to find the Fall issue with a cover photo of Collins Lyare Idehen Jr, dressed like a common thug, brandishing a handgun, in a dark alley. This has no place in firearms advertising. Tossed the magazine in the trash.
Springfield Armory, clean up your act and portray firearms in a positive way.

Common thugs don't usually wear $3000 suits bro. And Collion Noir is NOT a thug. He's an attorney and a big time 2A influencer.

This is what street thugs look like.

Did you happen to read the headline to see why they had that layout on the front cover? I don't get the magazine so I don't know what the reason for it was.
The reason is because Colion Noir is a social media icon and is doing a hell of a lot for the 2A community. He has a show on NRA TV and is featured in many magazines and interviews on the subject of 2A. He is highly intelligent and has a knack for articulating important and complex points in a simple, quick and straightforward manner. There are tons of videos of him evicerating anti-gunners without raising his voice, using insults or breaking a sweat.

I know who Collion Noir is . If I had seen a cover picture , I would have known why his picture was there. ;)
Some apparently want to jump to conclusions to quickly.
Not speaking of you Bassbob.

I thought the magazine cover was depicting Colion Noir as an old school detective or PI not a thug. The cover looked pretty classy to me, like an old Bogart movie poster.
obviously, the o/p does not know classic black and white 1930's thru 1950's private detective movies, nor tv shows.

it was a classic look to the time period....with a period correct gun to match

obviously too, the o/p does not know the difference between a common street thug and private detective, who typically dresses to near perfection.

but only someone that see's such a picture and thinks stereotypical thoughts about a black man.

My thoughts also!

I can see the OPs point, but respectfully disagree with their assumption. Some of these modern underworld shoes portray black folks as one of 2 things. Straight up hood-rats with their pants around their ankles and cleaned up well-dressed organized crime leaders.
As stated CN is "the" prominent figurehead for the 2A movement . I saw the gangster/detective nod and thought it was very tasteful.

I don't think the OP was looking at the cover from a race perspective. The OP maybe looking at the cover from a classic mobster perspective.

We need to keep in mind that the entire world isn't viewed through the eyes of race by everyone and there are other factors besides race that may give someone an impression of something positive or negative.

Like I said in my post on this thread where I thought Colion was portrayed as a classic detective or private investigator and another member may have understood the magazine cover as a classic mob movie gangster. Some people don't look at classic mobsters in a positive light that should be celebrated or glamorized.

The OP may have had the same reaction even if Brad Pitt was the cover character.

Agreed. The picture was cool but the article was very well done. I felt this magazine was one of the best I’ve received.
I agree. This issue was awesome. I have read it through a couple, few times now and tomorrow I will take it to work and leave it on a break room table. There's a stack of magazines from me there. NRA mags, Armory mags, etc.. Never pass up an opportunity to provide people with facts.
