Maybe, but use .45 acp +P if you do.

so which kind of bear? if the biggest baddest Kodiaks, Grizz then I'm going with my .454, Else a solid .44 mag or 45 LC +P. Failing that a solid 10mm for the average sized bears is good - don't put much stock in the stories of 9mm, for your own good.

Now ya did it lol, I will go one further I don't want ANY auto loader where I might have to be fighting at bad breath range. And don't say it cannot happen, bears are quieter and far faster than most can imagine. Have seen the lowly Blackie in action and it put the fear of God in me.

KF - good vid - one thing it also shows it for the black/browns, they will follow you up the tree. running for your life in the mountains, esp without a firearm is the best way to up your heartrate i've ever found. Ask me how I know

Does this mean you only carry Wheel Guns? I was like that until I got my first taste of 1911 loving, then I never went back.

When in the woods I carry exclusively wheel guns yes. Other times just about 90 percent of the time wheel guns. I have carried 1911s, still carry the 380 browning 1911 on occasion.

Ditto. If I’m in the woods a wheel gun is on my side, depending on “where” it’s a .357 or .44. In bear country it’s Always .44 Mag (4 5/8” SBH or 69 Smith)
