THE CLASSIC M1 GARAND

A group of shooters put 64 rounds thru mine a couple weeks ago..
Ringing steel the whole time. Peep sights take getting used too old school for many 😉😁

I'm a fan. Absolutely wonderful rifles.

The top one is a 1942 Springfield Arsenal. Back in 2007, I made the trip to CMP in Anniston, Al to get that one. Its a Danish return.
The bottom one is a 1955 Harrington & Richardson that belonged to a dear friend who sadly passed away. His wife was kind enough to let me buy this one from her. I think of him every time I look at it.

As already mentioned, I'd have no problem at all with going to war with one of these rifles today. (y)

I love the Garand. It’s probably my favorite rifle. I have a few. One tractor (IHC) and the rest SAs.

I even used to shoot one in 3-gun and some carbine matches just for fun.
A few years ago now, I used one in a Louis Awerbuck carbine class. A lot of shotgun techniques applied, management of recoil and ammunition, mainly.
