The CMMG FourSix — For Home Defense?

Nice, very nice, I’m just not an AR fan….I must have been dropped on my head to many times when I was a youngin……….
Im with you, however, piston systems like the MCX and BRN-180 have begun to change my opinion. Granted, they may not look as good as some other options but the proof is down range.
The 4-6 looks like a cute toy, may be good as an intro to the sport.

Since HK hasn't released a civilian MP7 to the market (as far as I'm aware), this could be an interesting alternative.

They haven’t, and they never will.

Honestly? A .17 caliber is suited for BB guns, not rifles. As big of a HK geek as I am, this has zero interest for me…

(Also, the MP7 is not highly thought of by those who use it…4.6 is not renown for stops, tends to take most of a mag to put someone down—similar to 5.7)

.22Plinkster has a good review of the new CMMG foursix that I seen this morning.

.22Plinkster has a ton of great videos on mostly rimfire firearms and ammo but he does review center-fire on occasion.

.22Plinkster has a really good video where he's shooting carpenter bees that have destroyed his porch with shot shell rimfire rounds. It's actually pretty amusing to watch.
There was an instance about 10 years ago that we had an infestation of carpenter bees out at our hunting camp. They got into the wood trusses and columns of our front porch. I spent the better part of two weekends shooting the hell out of them with .22 cal rat shot and a Marlin 39A. Sadly there was no bounty on the SOB's, but I enjoyed every minute of it !!!

The gun, and the round, are definitely interesting. Unfortunately, I'm trying to downsize the number of calibers that I own and shoot. Adding a new caliber at this point is an investment I'm not willing to make.

☝️☝️☝️ There was a time when adding more/different calibers to the arsenal was the name of the game and seemed really important .... but as the years pass and the ol' bones grow more and more weary, it just doesn't seem quite that important anymore. The simpler I can make things for myself these days, the better I seem to get along. And I'm still shooting about as much as I want to !!! 👍👍👍:):):)
