THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN AR-15 AND AR-10

It's easy to confuse the AR-15 and the AR-10 because to the average person, they look exactly the same. They use the same style receivers constructed from the same material complemented by the same mechanisms that are manipulated in the same way. That's a lot of 'the same'.

And although the differences are subtle, they are also significant.

I'm very fortunate: I have one of each.
An FN15 in 556X45 of course.
A Live Free assembled AR10 in 7.62X51.

I'm not comfortable discussing the M16's we were issued in Vietnam.
I'll just say, some of them didn't work very well.
