The Forgotten War: The Men and Guns of Korea 1950

Korea was my father's war - in as an Ensign, finished his career as Cdr-USN(Ret).

He talked about it...never. The only 2 things I ever heard from him about it was when he was giving me some history on his (my) 1951 Colt .38 revolver...and told me he was Navy Intel oversight for SAS Marines, who targeted and destroyed bridges and other important structures. Dad went along to verify success.

That's all I ever got out of him, and I didn't push. And (I understand this now), we never watched M*A*S*H as a family. He always went upstairs to read.

Wait, there was one more thing. Dad was born and raised in Buffalo NY...and his overwhelming comment about the war was "Korea was goddamned COLD in the winter".

Gotta remember to take the .38 to the range for Fathers Day, and spend a little time with Dad's memory.
