Good article. My father was a Korean War veteran, and retired with 20 yrs service in the US Army. He always said anytime he heard it said that the Korean War was a "policing action", that he was there, and he didn't see one damned policeman, only a bunch of little-bitty f'ers trying to kill him.

If you ever visit Washington D.C. be sure to see the Korean War Veterans Memorial, It is the best of the memorials in my opinion.

I visit the Korean War Memorial in Washington DC back in 2008.

When I was a noncom in the army, I had several different commanding officers. The two best captains I had were both in the Korean war. One was so fearsome, I saw even colonels afraid to buck him. He made R. Lee Ermey look tame!
