The guns of my childhood

Sld1959

Ronin
Oh the guns of childhood, fired by the imagination of reading and Tv, i caught bad guys, hunted and all manner of adventures. Sure I had a number of modern firearms, Thompsons, 1911, .38 snubs. But none fired my imagination like Fess Parker as Daniel Boone and Davey Crockett, and no, it did not seem odd he was both at the same time.

I killed innumerable soldados at the Alamo, unfriendly natives, and bears with my trusty long rifle and pistols. My big plastic bowie is lost to the ages, much like its true ancestor. I cannot begin to guess the untold rolls of caps I went thru.

Hi,

Did any of you guys have this spy stuff? My parents couldn't afford a new one but I got a "gently" used one as a present.

Yes, quite a few six shooter cap guns too. Does anyone besides Nerf make toy guns any more? Ahh, good times.

Thank you for your indulgence,

One of my favorite toys was a Zorro sword. A piece of chalk fit in the end. I had a blast making Zs all over on trees and buildings, for about a week and it mysteriously disappeared. Dad was oddly uninterested in helping me look for it.

I was hunting rabbits, pheasant and ducks since 7 yrs old. Back woods of Maine. I didnt have to “play” guns. I went out ans helped shoot dinner as dad loved wild game to supplant grocery store runs. We never lacked for food, family just lived wild game. Had my own .410, then 20 gauge which I used slugs for bigger game

Never had any of that "Agent Zero" stuff, but I DID have a buttload of cool toy guns. Quite a few were made by Marx.

I still collect cool old toy guns, mainly realistic full-size ones.
