The small population of Greenland is basically unarmed, and they are dependent on Denmark for their national security. Last night, the President of the United States threatened to take Greenland “one way or another.”

If I were the Prime Minister of Greenland, I would tell every citizen to arm themselves.

“TRUMP: Great job. And I also have a message tonight for the incredible people of Greenland. We strongly support your right to determine your own future.


And if you choose, we welcome you into the United States of America. We need Greenland for national security and even international security. And we’re working with everybody involved to try and get it. But we need it really for international world security, and I think we’re going to get it. One way or the other, we’re going to get it.”

That does have a threatening tone at the end that is out of place with the rest of the statement. Start with "we support your right to choose" but end with "We want it, we need it and, one way or another, we're going to get it." Vague on the intentions if they say no and the ways that "no" would be answered. A reasonable person could take it multiple ways and threatening is not out of the question.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the crap Trump says for the past 12 years will only misread that intentionally.

DJT is not the most eloquent orator. Unfortunately this gives his detractors ample fuel for their spin and fear monger machine. Thankfully most of the country is smart enough to watch his actions and not listen to jaded liberal MSM gibberish.

The way I see it, Denmark can either arm the citizens of Greenland to help the Danish Army repel an invasion, or sell Greenland to the U.S. Ironically, the citizens of Greenland don’t want to be part of either country.

Regardless, without firearms Greenlanders are at the mercy of powers that be.

Do you actually think we are going to invade Greenland? i mean seriously. now Trump may do some talking to them but to send in troops. i won't say it won't happen but i would shocked if he did. you guys are spazzin out over nothing.

He doesn’t believe that. Just like he didn’t believe Biden was in charge of his faculties for the last 4 years he just acted like he believed it. This is what’s called blind partisanship.

No, I don't think Trump will have to invade Greenland, but I do think by stationing a strong military force off their coast, he can negotiate with Denmark to buy Greenland. When the president of the most powerful country in the world says "one way or the other" you better take that seriously.

I'm all for the citizens there to be armed. they should have that right. but that's funny you say that cause yer party is all for removing guns from the public. but now you want everyone to be armed? why. is it cause the republicans are the majority now? You think the right is going to start a war with the left. if so you couldn't be more wrong. it is the left that are violent.

Why do you think I'm a Democrat? I consider myself an independent voter and have voted for both parties over the many years I've voted. I'm not a one issue voter. My issue with Trump, as a Vietnam Veteran, is his ridicule of John McCains military record and the six years he spent as a POW and the fact that Trump is an ass.

Just like most on this forum, I'm a gun nut and have an extensive collection of guns. I'm also very old and I've seen gun laws come, and gun laws go, based on the whim of the politicians in power. Right now, we can buy weapons that years ago were banned.

If Greenlanders were armed to the teeth the way we are in this country, it would give pause to any country about invasion or even the threat of invasion.
 
Trump is not perfect, he has a mouth at times. sometimes he is annoying but last night he hit it out of the park. was dead on about everything. now those frowning old democratic hags out in the seats watching didn't like none of it. they are for communism. That was the first time i heard him talk in a long time. i know he says stupid things sometimes, WE all do. I just figured you are a democrat from previous post. for the life of me i can't figure out an avid gun owner that claims to have several semi auto guns and votes for a party that promises to ban them. in my book they are either lying about having the guns or dumb as hell.

Far as greenland goes, i believe he wants it to kinda be able to strike countries that attack us from afar, now they may tell him to take a hike. and i probably would too if that's all he wanted the country for. don't believe he will send troops there. he has enough on his plate to do that now.

It's the epitome of idiocy.

So, the people who support the party who is anti 2nd amendment thinks that citizens from a foreign country should arm themselves and be armed because of a takeover of their country against their will?

Which is the EXACT reason why the 2nd amendment exists in this country.

This is so illogical makes you wonder how these people even function on a daily basis.

What makes it so ridiculous is that if you have to wait until the threat is immanent to arm, it's too late.
