Oh, they serve a purpose …Yes, i will agree they are funny lookin and serve no real purpose.
They are there to drain the water out when you practice being a Navy SEAL or drive your Porsche off the dock.This is about as crazy as I get. But, you will notice the little holes on the magazine body. I have not figured them out yet. I do however think it has to do with ventilation so the rounds do not get too hot during hot summer days.

I thought about drain holes, but usually they are only around the bottom of things, but you could be right. No one would ever mistake me fimor a Navy SEAL, maybe a character from McCales Navy but never a SEAL. yes magpul d60 or d50 are a pita to load, but, they stay loaded for years so there's that.Got several 50 rounders by different makes. i completey trashed a magpul 60 one time. they are a PITA to load
