Yah, is way usually happens with innovation. The original innovation may be so-so, but what becomes of idea later on is generally more doable and functional because of it.

Am pretty sure there's many more odd, weird and sometimes crazy things out there still unknown and classified most of us haven't heard about.

Is pretty much true. Are many of the off the wall things used. The flaming pigs used in warfare to scare off elephants is another? Could be a mobile hog roast?
