The Oh-So-Important ‘After the Bang’ Phone Call

i took a class thru my range with an attorney. he also shoots there and puts in some hours training and as an RSO as well...he said call 911 and when asked what's your emergency, say..."send everyone".

this way too, if you feel "sick" or feel "pains" as in your chest, you get taken to the hospital too. supposedly, no one can interview you while you are being treated. now, this may be a state by state thing, or normal police procedures.

it was worth that money spent to get it from a lawyer.

when i do get my ccw, i will most certainly join USSCA

he went on to say, "the first person to call IS the victim"....

Hmm... could be a good move, assuming that lawyer knows his stuff.
I work in a hospital (engineering dept) and it is definitely true you cannot be arrested while undergoing treatment or during bona fide recovery period. Not so sure about questioning; if the doc says it’s ok you might have to speak to LE.
I do want to add that Masad Ayoob (Mas) says to be sure to tell LE straightaway on arrival that you wish to file a complaint against the intruder/attacker. (Avoid saying “file charges”, only the LEOs can do that). This gets you in the position as the injured party before anyone else - might especially help if someone nearby heard shots and called 911 before you.

I wouldn’t make a trip to hosp as a deliberate delaying tactic. If you get a straight doc who later says there was absolutely nothing wrong with you, you might be in a pinch. Mas says limit what you say but do not lie.
I’m reading his book “Deadly Force” now. Lotta good tips and real world examples.
