Saw this and thought it would be a good read, the pros and cons of aluminum framed handguns. I have read many articles on how durable they were, but I think today with the metallurgy that’s available, this shouldn’t be any concern now.

Good read Anni,
A lot of good info and thoughts in there.
Am suspecting some aluminum and other alloys like stainless steel have changed much more over the years for firearms use and more than some people may think? Presently, there's over 150 different types of stainless steel and hundreds of different grades of aluminum for example. Going by that and some other more recent info, some of the older info could or should be likely updated for newer firearms while also keeping the older info in mind for older firearms.

What am getting at is in some older methods, thoughts and info regarding metal, it may no longer apply to newer firearms the way it has in the past while some info still may. Am sort of surprised that metal grades are not stamped or marked on all firearms. (Am glad it's not for the most part.) Guessing it makes it all "funner" in the end, right? :)
