Older ones are great guns. New ones, not as impressed. Modern less expensive materials make it still a great bargain shotgun, but I think I’d buy an older used model before a brand new one again.

it is my go to shotgun for my son in the mud duck hunting based on the value for getting muddy and wet.

Good article-I purchased a home defense model when I was employed at Range USA for dealer price-now I replaced the Poly stock with a nice wood checkered model and payed less than $70.00 and was brand new.I did a little add ons like the large button safety and aluminum magazine follower and also a XS Bigdot front sight-it is now a pretty good home defense gun.
Of coarse this is all in 20 gauge so it is kinda like the red headed stepchild.

I have a 12 gauge model with an XM serial number, which is a magnum model. I bought it before Remington started stamping the receivers with Magnum. It never let me down.
