When it comes to protecting your home with a firearm, there are lots of options. While handguns are the most common, the truth is they take more training to use competently and are harder to operate. That’s why, one of the best firearm options for home defense is the shotgun.

Taylyn, right on the money. Thanks!

Are my thoughts exactly.
Thought of just auto punching like because of personal thoughts, but in all fairness read article too.
Glad did. It only reinforced original thoughts stronger.

Good article. I especially like the new buckshot loads mentioned in the article. Thanks, Talyn.

The shotgun is the ideal home-defense weapon for my family. I have kept a 20 gauge pump with a youth stock and an 18.5" barrel loaded with #4 Buck for years. This shotgun can be effectively used by my kids and my wife, but still packs enough power to stop almost any threat. My sons have grown big enough to handle a 12 gauge, but my wife is still more comfortable with the 20. I think #4 Buck is powerful enough to get the job done, but I'd like to see Federal offer the force X2 in 20 gauge.

There are three basic shotgun designs. Although all will work for defense, their unique functionality and features lend themselves to specific users and situations. Understand the differences and what they meat to choose the perfect firearm for you." - Guessing there's the crunchy style too? :)

Kidding, the points raised are still very good ones to listen to!

Is why it's safer to look at point of articles instead of just words for me, spell check only does so much. Misused words can turn whole articles upside down and inside out or lose stories meaning if not careful. I usually overlook and read on, but meat verses meet gave it a somewhat comical twist. Not much humor in this world or as much as it could use sometimes. Grab it when can? :)

Regardless, the article has very good basic info contained in it to pass along to others. The spelling error just gave story a more balanced feeling of people just being people and more human to me. Unfortunately, besides misspelled words being relayed, passed on down to others, real editors, content checkers are likely obsolete?
