General George S. Patton was paralyzed in an auto accident in Germany on Dec. 9, 1945, and died in a Heidelberg hospital 12 days later. His death spared conspiracy theories.

My favorite scene from the famous 1970 Patton movie is where he is raving about being left out.

"An entire WORLD at WAR, and I'M not a PART of it? GOD will NOT PERMIT this to HAPPEN!"

And, as it turned out, he was exactly right.
