Kind of scary.
Made me think twice about shooting any rifle. Hard to believe that can even happen.Scary……..very scary….. glad he is doing ok….but wow…….
I’ve watched Matt & Scott do a video together and they were doing some wild & crazy stuff, lots of fun. .22 Plinkster‘s only worry, would be if @10mmLife sent him some of his hot 22lr loadsI'm glad Scott's OK and wish him a speedy recovery. I would've expected something like this to happen on the Demolition Ranch channel before Kentucky Ballistics. I bet .22 Plinkster never has to worry about this type of stuff.
According to the video, he either was given or bought a few rounds (going for over $100 per round). His rifle barrel was rated for a pressure of 55,000. He fired a total of 3 rounds of the stuff, with the 2nd creating a fireball greater than the 1st. He decided to try one more for the 3rd attempt, causing the catastrophic rifle damage and his injuries. He reached out to someone that knows about the cartridge (perhaps the person he got them from), and said from the damage done, the 3rd round had to have a pressure of at least 85,000. If you haven’t already, watch the whole video, it’s well worth it as it explains everything in great detail including his injuries and those that treated him.Did he reload his ammo too hot?
Sounds like he bought a reload, or else a very poorly QCed round.According to the video, he either was given or bought a few rounds (going for over $100 per round).
