I'm no horse trader. I'm better at buying guns than selling and have a number of guns I should sell. I've been considering reducing them, but here I am (with a few more).
i have a bad habit of browsing the gun store, when i am there for say ammo......i cannot stay away from the showcases.
so therefore, i too can accumulate quite a few.
but to me, guns are a commodity, like anything else, such as vehicles, lightly used clothing, silverware, furniture, etc, that can be either handed down, or...sold to someone who can get use out of it.
most gun stores asked me, "what do you want to do, sell, trade, consignment"?
i once traded a gun for the cost of ammo, that worked out for me that time.
2 times i put guns on consignment, but they sat for weeks, and then, the idiots either did not pass the background checks (really happened) or try to brow-beat you for a lower price.....which i will NOT budge on.
so ever since then, a straight sale to the LGS....which is even working better.....no issues, cut a check for me, off i go.
the first time you want to sell a gun, is the hardest, as like, which one should go first?
i can only say what i have done, and will continue to do, with no reservations at all....again, nothing more than a commodity.
another way i look at it, the lesser number of guns i have when i die, the lesser chances of the executor of my Will not getting the best money for my guns, or who knows, maybe pocket some before he hands over the rest to the wife.??
I like the executor i appointed.......but i still trust no one 1000%.
