Threaded Barrel on Echelon

I'm new to the forum. Hello to all!

My first SA pistol is a RO Elite Target, which I enjoy. I shot CZ Shadow 2 , and Walther PPQ 5" in outlaw matches.
Also have Sig P365 XL which seems to shoot low and to the right (I'm left handed), but that's another issue. Any thoughts on that issue would be appreciated.

Purchased Echelon with threaded barrel because it was the only one in stock at preferred LGS. Wanted to use it to learn/train on optics. Installed Holosun 507C GR-x2-ACSS.

Two questions for forum.

1) Is there any way to ensure the threaded barrel cap doesn't work its way off.
2) Would a steel or tungsten guide rod help with recoil?

Thanks in Advance

welcome to the site......

1) maybe some blue loctite? that will be easy to remove...DO NOT USE RED..!!!

2) the only time(s) i replace guide rods on ANY gun i have, is when the guide rod is plastic....that debate lives on about plastic/steel guide rods, but it's what I DO.....

so if the Echelon has a metal guide rod? i'd leave it alone.

plastic? then i know what I'd DO.

A rubber o-ring or plumbers white Teflon tape will keep the thread protector from working it's way loose.

I keep a roll of Teflon tape in my range bag for direct thread suppressors.

In my personal experience I've never had a thread protector work loose. Just tightened up with mechanical assistance. I do like thread tape idea though. Guide rods are widely personal preference. Agree with Old_Me, if it's plastic, I'd replace it. Make sure any mods done are not going to be an issue if this is an EDC gun.

Many Thanks for all the helpful responses. It is a polymer Guide Rod, so I'll probably replace it. I also like the thread tape suggestion, and I'll probably try that first, just because I don't want to lose it at the range.
Downside of threaded barrel, is that the cap must be removed, to remove the barrel, at least in this pistol.
