Never got into this part of the Ruger handgun family, and only have Single-Sixs & Blackhawks.

Never had one, never shot one. I used to be a bit of a Gun Snob and considered them inferior to my Smiths and Colts. Would like to shoot one, though I'd prefer the adjustable-sighted version.

These are fine revolvers. I like 'em! 😁
This was Ruger's answer to the S&W K-frame. In fact, they fit the same holsters. However, the Ruger Sixes had a beefier frame and could handle full house magnums all day long. The action wasn't quite as smooth as the S&W, but it wasn't bad. Quite good actually. Being usually a bit less expensive than other brands. The Sixes sold well. Even making their way into the Police market. They were made from 1972 until 1988.
They were replaced by the GP-100. Frankly I never did like that one. Has all the ergonomics of trying to shoot a brick. About as heavy too. :(
I've always said that the worst mistake Ruger ever made was discontinuing the "Six" series of DA revolvers.
People are realizing just how good these guns are and used ones sell quickly at very near the price of a similar S&W.
I currently own three of 'em and always looking for more. ;)
