I would have to add that having good grips are a big help. Sometimes factory grips are inadequate, and should be replaced.

Agreed Talyn. I have Hogue rubberize grips on my 7 1/2" Ruger 454 Casull. Even wearing shooting gloves, it was a handful

I replaced the factory grips on my 329PD with larger Hogues and it made a BIG difference. The 329PD is still a handful also, especially with nuke loads like Buffalo Bore but the grips helped tremendously with them. 44 Special loads are what I typically practice with in it.

I like wood grips on my guns, i always replace the stock rubber grips that come on S&W revolvers, on single action boomers, I usually let the gun roll in my hand under recoil, after all, that’s what big boomers are supposed to do........lol.
