SAINT
and he's been to my club a few times as well.
he owns a small Glock, a G-26, that is his home defense gun.
back then, i took him to the club to get practice with it, and i cleaned it for him and he'd watch.
later, he cleaned and lubed it while i'd be watching him.
but today, i took him to the public range, and i took my SS Beretta 92 FS, and my G-44.
i also took 200 rounds of 22lr, and 100 rounds of new 9mm
he was excited frankly with the .222 and loved it, he was having fun....mind you, it's been like maybe nearly 4 months since his last handling of a gun.
his first 3 targets were outside the target, meaning not in any color zone.
but as each target was betting replaced, he got closer to center.
he was having a blast, and his trigger finger was getting a blister.
then i took out the Beretta....
his first half dozen shots, he really loved those, and frankly he was doing quite well, getting incredibly close to the center.
then he left to go into the classroom, to take a "ranger certification test"
meaning that now, when he goes with me, he shows that ID card, and no longer has to sign any waivers.
he took his last 3 targets, to show our other buddy, the manager at the mom/pop bait store.
the manager had a grin, fist bumped me and said, "nice job counselor".........
felt good to see him having a blast.........
and at 77 years of age, does that constitute as a "second childhood"....????
