Top 5 Gun Belt (Manufacturers)

They have listed the big name makers-there are several other gun belt makers that are as good of quality if not better.
I have bought belts from Aker-Galco-The Belt Man-and another maker I can't remember the name-some have been great but nothing to brag about.
Some of the custom makers are also very good quality-I use almost nothing but Bigfoot Gun Belts with the stainless steel lining-I own 4 of them-some short and heavy duty and some longer(weight gain Drats)these are all still in like new shape and have gotten worn a lot.

Another great article on a gun related product Annihilator, thanks for sharing.
I’ve been using heavy duty gun belts made by Tucker Gunleather for years.
1/4 inch thick 1-3/4 wide however like holsters I’m always in the market for something different I like what Galco and 1791 has to offer.

Blue Alpha is a small upstart that’s gone big. Kurt is a genuinely great guy, treats his employees like family, and makes great belts. His sizing makes a lot of sense. No guessing how much extra inches to buy. They ask for only your pants size and you get the right belt.

Seriously, you really need a good gun belt when you carry, I know a few guys who keep complaining that there gun keeps pulling down on them, I asked don’t you have a dedicated gun belt, answers are always no, I just use my regular pants belt...not gonna work.

I use the Blue Alpha EDC Low Profile belt (bought via the WPS website), and so far, so good. I initially ord'd the belt in my pant size, but after receiving it and trying it on with a IWB holster (AG 4.0 Shape Shifter), there wasn't enough belt left to fully connect the velcro closures together. Contacted them, and explained my predicament, and they promptly sent me the next size up, and a return shipping label to return the original belt. Very good customer service, and the next size up has worked well since then for IWB and of couse OWB carry. Now, thinking back however, the Alien Gear 4.0 IWB Shapeshifter is a bit bulky and takes-up some real estate, and maybe it's how it "fits" my particular body, which is 6'0", & 197-200lbs (on any given day) 🤔 . Not questioning their sizing charts/advice, the next size up from my pant sz works. :) . Hey, it's the only belt I use for "carrying", so it's evidently working. 😎

Hey KL I got your back on this, it might seem obvious the Annihilator just called you fat but I have it on a good tip that his chickens have hacked his computer and are setting him up for a higher quality food.
No, didn’t call him fat......10mm got a belly belt I think for riding his mountain bike.....but, since I haven’t seen KL.......er.......I will be quiet....🤪🤪🤪🤪

That’s great. Nothing works for everyone all the time but the true test of a company is how they handle themselves after the sale. Glad they’re sticking up to their reputation.

I'm a fan of 5.11 stuff and wear the 1.75" Operator Belt as a duty belt at the fire department and have worn it in uniform when I was still in. Great all around belt designed for people that wear a lot of stuff on their belt.

It has a stiffener that doesn't allow the belt to fold over or slouch when weighted down. The Velcro closure is great and the thing is damn comfortable day in and day out. Off duty has no problem holding up to a full sized 1911.

Just another one to consider.
Take care,
Walt

I use VersaCarry gun belts and have had no complaints. I will use Kore Essential ratchet with a couple pair of my shorts but have become a big fan of the VersaCarry leather belts.

So I got my 1791 holster For my 1911 RO and 1791 gun belt today, the belt is single layer leather, thick as well as flexible but firm enough to hold the holster firmly against my hip without sag and without giving any indication of folding over under the weight of a heavy gun. The holster is first class, well made with thick heavy duty Leather, a lifetime piece.

I’ll be wearing this for a solid week and give a follow up review.

My gun belt was made by a harness maker for me close to 20 years ago, when I first started carrying...it needs replacing, though, and he passed away.

Trying to decide if I like the ratcheting belts or not...
