I had no doubt he would. Raccoons are very intelligent. We have them all over around here. They're slick. Well, except Jeremiah ( yes I named him). When he was young he jumped up on one of my bird baths. I looked out the window in the morning and it was upside down on the grass. I finished my coffee, messed around in the house a little and then decided to go put my bird bath back on the pedestal. When I picked it up Jeremiah was underneath, where he had obviously been for a good while as he had half a tunnel started trying to get out. Though he too learned and hasn't done that again. So I shouldn't be too hard on him.He DID eventually learn, though.
