TRP in 9mm this coming shot show?

I have never owned a TRP, but have had plenty of Springfield 1911’s and carried them on duty over the years. During all that time I’ve thought I’m going with the TRP at some point. Problem is I’ve basically gone full 9mm, add to that my career is probably coming to a close in the next 1-3 years. What does everybody think the odds are we’ll get 9mm TRP’s this next year and I can close out my career carrying one?

I have a 45 TRP that has been fantastic over the last several years. I just did my pistol qualification with it the other day. If they came out with a 9mm commander size TRP with an aluminum frame I’d have to get one as a carry gun.

38 Super is the sweet set up for bowling pin shoots. Pins are set back and with the 38 supers capabilities over 9mm it’s like cheating!

Yes some can load 9mm hot but you can’t push them to the 38 Super levels
The nice yhinh is that it’s a pretty simple barrel & mag swap (well, yes, the barrel needs to be fitted…).

I have a .38 Super barrel for my RIA TCM, making it a triple threat; .22TCM, 9mm, and .38 Super.

I was told by a friend and competent 1911 smith (he consulted with S&W in the Lioseys UC J frames) about the Colt Commander 1911 in 38 Super vs 9mm. And a barrel swap. He said to buy the 38 Super then the 9mm barrel will drop in and it’s easier to run both. The other way around with extractors and such is more problematic.

Not sure about the Rock Island and ithers.

I will say the one thing that kept me out of Colts in 9mm anyway is I believe a ramped barrel is the best way to go in 9mm 1911’s as the non ramped seem to be the biggest hiccup with Colts in 9mm anyway. The 45 round is just big enough it doesn’t matter where 9 is just enough smaller.
