True to Form: The Tisas 1911A1 ASF

TISAS chose to replicate the WWII G.I. 45 Remington Rand M1911A1 with its legendary reliability, and all components are interchangeable with the original.

This M1911A1 is a good example of a high-quality product offered at a low price. SDS Imports and Tisas USA, a veteran owned company, developed the CNC program here in the U.S. then had the gun made to their specs in Turkey, where highly skilled labor is very cheap. They put an American quality control officer in the Turkish factory to make sure their standards were adhered to.

Thanks to this combination of American know-how and cheap foreign skilled labor, the MSRP is $480… and some dealers offer it for as low as $379. The Civilian Marksmanship Program has also bought these to sell at their outlets. Those guns are marked CMP. That’s a hefty stamp of approval.

This has been discussed at length on other forums. The CMP gun is priced at $480.00. While the MSRP is the same, that's $100 more than the OTD price of this gun. The only difference anybody has found is that the Tisas civilian version is Ceracoated and the CMP has a Manganese Phosphate (Parkerized) finish. And ,of course, it does bear those 3 little letters, CMP. Plus the CMP gun has a 4-6 week wait.
The choice is up to you.

Ugh, you can't make anyone happy.

The Tisas 1911s are completely undervalued, the Inland gun is probably nearly DOUBLE the price of the Tisas. And mind you, unless things have changed, Springfield 1911s major parts AREN'T made in the States either.

But, whatever

Frankly I would never buy a SA 1911 either.
