Trying to find the low profile Springfield flip up front sight for my Saint.

So I just bought a new Saint and am currently looking for the low profile Springfield flip up front sight to switch with the included A2 front sight. Springfield couldn't tell me a time when they may start selling them again on their store. Does anyone know where I should be looking to find one, or have one they are interested in parting with?

Do you know that you're A2 sight is part of your firearms gas system and you will need to add a new low profile has block after you remove the factory sight?

Depending on the current hand guard you have on the rifle you may need a new hand guard to accommodate a front flip sight or a gas block that has a 1913 rail on it. There are plenty of flip sight options out there with Magpul polymer sights being the best quality to value out there in my opinion.

So I have the ST916556BMA. My plan was to get a gas block with a rail on it, but I'm thinking about replacing the hand guard. Is the hand guard on this version even replaceable? It has the retractable ring that holds the current Bravo Company one in place. Sorry about my cluelessness, this is my first AR.

I have a couple ARs with fixed A2 fronts and a flip-up rear BUIS, and with an optic mounted. There's no issue looking thru the optic whether red dot or low-power optic.

A2 front sight towers are pretty much bomb-proof.

I just bought a Vortex Sparc to put on it. Is your red dot even with the post on the front sight or is it higher?

To co-witness or be higher than the front site post depends on the height of the mounting base that the MRD (aka mini red dot) (aka Sparc, etc.) comes with or can be mounted to.

Did your Sparc come with a mounting base? Some brands come with a high base and a flush-mount base.

I don't know what Vortex ships with their Sparc.

I believe Sparc's use the same attachment footprint that Aimpoint T-1's do so there's various manufacturers that make compatible bases of several heights so the user can tune the MRD to their sight preferences.

I prefer ADM mounts (American Defense Manufacturing), and of those the bases with a QR (quick release) in order to take the optic off fast, if it fails, and then move to the rearBUIS/fixed A2 front.

ADM has bases (QR and non-QR) of various heights.

My .02

thank you for this! I wasn't a fan of not being able to take the optic off in a hurry. looking into the ADM mounts.

Primary Arms has good prices & apparently ADM T-1 mounts on sale right now. Don't know why their images aren't working but you can compare what they're listing with pics on the ADM website.

Primary Arms - ADM page

Absolute height = This mount is designed to place the center of the optic in line with standard AR-15 iron sights for an absolute cowitness.

Lower 1/3 height = This mount is designed to place the standard AR-15 iron sights in the lower 1/3 of the optic's window for an unobstructed view of the target.

I prefer "absolute" since once you have your MRD sighted in then if your MRD dies (for whatever reason) you just have to flip your rear BUIS up (make sure you have the MRD mounted on the flat top so you can flip up your rear BUIS up (without interferring with the MRD) and you'll be right on just like where your MRD dot is.

Make sure you sight in (adjust) your front sight post (A2) for the same distance.
