Ok so here's the story, I am trying to get a Henry Axe 410 here in Pennsylvania but I can't. Here's the legal weirdness. So according to PA law you are not allowed to own a shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18 inches. HOWEVER, owning a Henry Axe 410 is legal in PA even with the short barrel because it is considered a non-Class 3/NFA "Firearm" because of the axel handle grip. Now here's the issue, no company that sells the Henry Axe 410 here can send it here to PA, because under the category, it IS a Shotgun. So it seems to be in a sort of Legal Limbo as far as getting one. Can someone explain this madness?

I’m in Northeast Pa., and have seen the Henry AXE at my LGS on several occasions. I opted for the Henry Mares leg in 45lc (ordered through my LGS), lieu of the AXE, but may revisit getting one at a later time. I’m not sure why you’re having trouble getting one sent here, unless something recently came about I’m unaware of.
I did call in about that, what he stated was that the distributors don't want to be sued by the state of PA, what happens is that the firearm would be sent to another state to be picked up....however once they see you are from PA and it is a shotgun with a barrel under 18 inches, they probably won't allow you to have it since i reside in PA. Again a legal loophole no one wants to deal with.
I live in Central PA, all my stores have it listed as restricted and it states that the closest FFL i can use is in another state. Again these are completely legal in PA, but I think these companies are being overly worried about the technical term of a "Shotgun" I'll keep trying.

I bought the Mossberg Shockwaves in 12 gauge (box mag model); 28 gauge and 410 along with the Remington TAC 14 (box mag model), and TAC 13 semi auto all at my Pa. LGS. They have the birdsheads grip and are classified the same as the Henry AXE. It sounds like the distributor(s) in your area just don’t want to order one due to the hassles you mentioned. That’s a shame and I wish you good luck on finding an alternative to let you eventually acquire one.

Palmetto State Armory sells them but they’re out of stock at the moment. Get on the notify list, and when back in stock, have them transfer it to your local FFL. Just a thought.

Just curious since you are in central PA. I just looked on the "Grice Gun Shop" website (largest gun store in PA). It is listed as out of stock but it is not listed as restricted.
Didn't look up that one, I was on Sportsman Warehouse, I'll check with Grice after work.
