So......anyway, I have developed a thing for the 1911 (I was gonna say, "Who hasn't", but I respect those with an aversion). Anyhoo, I was at a LGS back in April and the husband pointed out a Kimber Pro Carry II to me. I have child sized hands so he is always looking out for something that fits me. Well, I do love the heft of a 1911, and this was a 4 inch and maybe a little easier for me to carry. Anyway, it felt awesome so I bought it and I do love how it fires.

No sooner than I settle into this one and I bump into the SA Ronin EMP 4. Well heck...

I did my due diligence but could't find one anywhere locally. Finally was able to get one online. It rocks. Feels unbelievable. These two look identical to the unlearned eye. Both feel like home. The one plus for the Ronin EMP is the grips. While I have no problem handling the Kimber, its grips are noticeably wider than the Ronin EMP for a small hand. I haven't fired the Ronin yet, but I'm itching to get to the range next week to feel it.

(Sorry the images are soooo big. I'm not great with the tech stuff and it's been a long week..)

Congratulations! I've never shot an EMP but I got interested in them about a decade ago when they were available in .45GAP. Handled a couple at gun shows and was VERY impressed with how much better they felt in my hand than a standard 1911. At that time I had concerns about the .45GAP cartridge sticking around, as well as the unique parts of the EMP platform that don't interchange with standard 1911 stuff. Now that I'm getting older, and 9mm ammo has gotten so much better, perhaps I need to take another look at a 9mm EMP. Thanks for sharing it with us!

SA had the EMP with the bobtail. Man, that was a sweet looking pistol. Too bad they discontinued it.
