Ok, just when you don’t think the senate is against your gun rights, this happens, please get a hold of your senators and tell them hell no on this

Talk about adding insult to injury!!!
I’m not surprised Connecticut’s Blumenthal is involved he is venomous snake. It is interesting reading how some states are saying they will find it hard to prosecute these charges. A total waste of time for law enforcement.

Not trying to hijack the thread but the more I hear about what’s going on with Russia and Ukrain I feel the world is in for a serious all out war that will dominate the headlines and put the focus on more important issues than gun control.

I think the outrage is misplaced. Lots of people are investigated during a criminal investigation that don't get charged. Watch any true crime show when they interview investigators. In this case it seems an easy case to close. Was it a false positive? No charges. Was the applicant actually banned? We get the criminal off the streets. It's not the affront to dignity and freedom they're making it out to be. Also it's not likely to pass, but it is a really good way to get readers whipped up.

I have a friend who gets false positives every time he applies. In every case, he gets cleared, eventually. Why they haven't corrected the issue makes no sense. It's because he has the same name as a felon, but different SSN, address, state.....
Stupid is as stupid does.

Actually no criminal is going to try to buy a gun legally and go through a background check in all seriousness, this is aimed at the people who do get a false check.
There are plenty of stupid criminals. Also some that forget. A good friend of mine has a felony from way back. He was talking about getting a gun when things got weird in San Francisco in 2020 or so. I reminded him that's a crime for him. He had forgotten. I suggested he get a dog instead.

I would like for my senator to provide an explanation before I make any judgment. If his purpose was to provide absolute proof that the current NICS system is flawed, then I may support his position. The Obama administration was allowed by a sympathetic media to claim "99.4% accuracy" for NICS because no one had properly documented all of the failures. I personally think the bill is more likely to be killed by members of Congress who want to protect the current (i.e. broken) system than it is to be killed by hardcore 2A supporters.
