Updated list of anti-gun businesses

I like that CCRKBA publishes this list, but I wish they would provide a few more details. I won't shop at Dick's or buy Levi's because those companies have outwardly and publicly come out against the 2nd Amendment. However, I am hesitant to stop doing business with a company simply because the CEO or a board member is anti-2A.

I fully support all individuals' right to speak freely and donate to whatever political causes or religious organizations they choose. As long as they are acting as an individual, I will never hold an employee's legal exercise of their speech or beliefs against their employer. I would like for this list to offer specific details about why individuals and companies were put on this list so that I can determine if they were acting as individuals or on behalf of the company.

Really only a couple off that list that I might have minor dealings with, and that will change for the worse for them. My wife is a little on the plump size, but she has a license to carry, so if you ask her for a ride, you better behave! Just saying! lol

Sobering list. I wonder how updated it is though. Gateway Computers? I thought they were bought out by Acer about 2007. Anyway, I go under the assumption that nobody is gun friendly. Very easy to do from my area.

Around here it's pretty easy to see locally who is and isn't gun friendly. They will have a sign on the door that says " No firearms allowed". I live in a rural county about 40 miles south of St. Louis. St. Louis is like every other major, democrat controlled city. Out here though it is thoroughly red. There's a local grocery store here. It's about 11 miles closer than the nearest Wal-Mart and their prices are higher. They have excellent meat though and they do good business. About 3 years ago I pulled up and started walking inside and on the door was a sign that said " No firearms allowed". I walked in and told the manager I wouldn't be shopping there anymore and why. A few months later I went back because I needed something and the sign was gone. Replaced with an NRA sticker. Which is still there.

Here in Georgia, those signs really mean nothing. I go in stores concealed carry all the time. If a store owner sees you are carrying, he can ask you to leave. If you refuse and the police are called, you will be charged with trespassing, but no firearm related charges as long as you are legally carrying (ie. have a Weapons Carry License). You'd have to be an idiot not to leave when asked, but it's not against the law to carry in an establishment with a "No Firearms Allowed" sign on the door.

glad u told the manager why (I’m more of a type to write a quick polite note and mail it).

Concur. Our town doesn't have a lot of shopping selections. Walmart and Kroger basically. I've been shopping at Kroger for over 20 yrs, and earn points towards my gas purchases at their pumps. I order stuff from Amazon due to it not being available here, and if I do want to go to a store that might have what I'm wanting, it's always a 45-50 mile trip (one way). With the gas prices surely increasing, those long distance trips will be fewer. Sometimes you have to pick your battles. I personally win all the time just by ignoring the negative side of things such as tv shows, movies, people who post on sites, and news outlets. I refuse to let the ba$tards get me down.

It's the same here except we don't need a permit to carry concealed. Permit holders are allowed to carry in a few places non permit holders aren't or rather I should say that in places that you are prohibited from carrying by state law, permit holders are asked to leave but not charged with anything whereas non permit holders can be charged.

Yeah, the signs in private businesses are a moot point for a couple reasons. As you said it isn't against the law, but more importantly there is no way they can tell if I'm carrying or not. I still won't do business with them and I will go in and tell them why.

As far as Amazon and WalMart and some other businesses who's products make their way into my house, that is all my wife. I have been trying to get her to quit going to WalMart for years. Apparently I can't control her. And I am guilty of buying some stuff from vendors on Amazon, but the sellers I use are legitimate firearm supply companies so I am supporting them. For instance yesterday I bought the 4 pack of Viridian batteries on Amazon for the new HS-1 I bought. I bought them from Viridian. So there is always going to be some things you can do and some things you can't. My wife has a checking account at BOA. She seems unimpressed by my pleas for her to drop them. What she wasn't able to do was force me to bank there. So if she wants to go to 2 different banks to access my money for bills or whatever that's on her. I won't put my money in that bank. Or Wells Fargo. They can both kiss my ass.

but it's not against the law to carry in an establishment with a "No Firearms Allowed" sign on the door.
IT DEPENDS ON THE JURISDICTION.

Some states, those signs DO carry force of law. KNOW YOUR LOCAL LAWS.

Here in Maryland...they do not. Same as posted above - we can be asked to leave, and refusal will result in a trespass charge, but that's all (as long as you are licensed to carry).

Just make SURE you know your local laws, or the laws for anywhere you are traveling to or visiting.
