UPS gun theft ring

This is why it costs so damn much to ship firearms, UPS/Fedex hire employees that do this stuff. This is not the first time This has happened.

My guns go off-body in 3 situations:

1. In the safe for the night
2. At the range (they prefer no concealed carry at the range)
3. After the range, being cleaned.

Any other time...they don't leave my hip. Period. CERTAINLY not for shipping!!

So, people who were caught stealing firearms out of mail packages (federal crime?) are let out of jail on bail, but a couple that legally defended their own property, with their own firearms, are being charged with a felony. 🤔
I agree completely Scott. If you take a firearm (where Pellet & BB Guns are designated as firearms), into NYC and are caught with it (without NY legal paperwork), it's been mentioned that it carries a mandatory 3 year (I believe) sentence if found guilty. Yet criminals committing crimes with guns, whacking people over the heads with canes, assaulting old ladies as they walk, seem to always get off light with little or no jail time and several released on bail immediately. There's something wrong with our justice system when innocent people are punished harsher than criminals.
Anyways, good news in the case of the Missouri couple defending their property and then charged by the local DA. Missouri's Attorney General is pushing hard to have the charges dropped, and the State's Governor has gone on record that he will pardon them if it does go forward and they are convicted. It's just another government official that practices political "dogma", versus enforcing the Law.

When I shipped my 4 Sig P320's (and 1 X-Change kit slide), back to the Sig N.H. plant for their 'Voluntary Upgrade Program" via FedEx, I tracked the packages that I shipped from a local FedEx hub. I tracked all 4 (the X-Change kit slide was included in one of the 4 cases), to Newark Airport, and then saw only 3 shipped out to N.H. Thinking that one might have been pilfered, I immediately contacting FedEx insisting they look into where that package was. When told it was normal for packages to separate while in shipment ( all four were together at prior shipment points), I told them that I'd wait no longer than 24 hours for a location update, since this package contained a firearm, and that I'd report it to the police as stolen. Low and behold, about 1 hour later, I tracked the package shipped from the airport to Sig in N.H. It might have been a coincidence, but my parents had an expensive 5 piece silk screen stolen at JFK airport that was shipped from South Korea while they were there. After my father filled out a stolen report with the police, the screen magically reappeared at the airport about a month or so later. Airport theft is rampant.

This recently happened to me. I purchased a Shield RMSc red dot from a well known online firearms store at a very fair price. I will not mention their name because this was absolutely no fault of theirs. In fact, after UPS returned the shipping box to them with a big hole and no product inside, the store quickly obtained another one and shipped it immediately (less than week later). It now sits safely on my Hellcat. I invite the thief to come and try to steal it now! The shipping history showed it went nowhere near SC but went thru their system in 3 states before it was discovered. My conclusion can only be that this problem is widespread within UPS which, for me, now stands for Undelivered Parcel Service. "What can brown do for me?" Nothing ever again!

I was under the impression that you were only supposed to use FedEx not UPS to ship guns and ONLY real branches not like Kinkos.
I would NEVER consider using UPS to ship my guns, I hated to do it but just had to ship my Savage MSR-10 back for service, being out of warranty the cost is on me but insured and shipped and tracking to the service department I’m not worrying. FedEx all the way.

Here’s something interesting, I have some mags coming from Magpul, shipped UPS. They have been in Louisville for two days but according to the UPS tracking they still won’t deliver the box till tomorrow.

Good luck! I hope you get them but this is the same kind of tracking reports I got when my Shield RMSc was stolen by them. (See my post above on this page.)
