Okay, have been using a We The People (WTP) IWB holster for awhile now, and yesterday the danged (plastic) belt clip broke when I was putting the holster on. Like the holster a lot, but the clips need some improving. That didn't deter me and I went online and ordered 3 extra clips. Hey, I like the holster, what can I say. In the process, I also ord'd WTP IWB holsters for my SA XDS9, plus an IWB & OWB (paddle holster) for the M&P 380EZ I have. One of the 3 belt clips ord'd will be to repair the holster for my edc M&P EZ9.

Getting to the title of my post, after ordering the above mentioned items, I got to thinking of other holsters, and looked at the Urban Carry LockLeather site. I've been thinking of trying a leather model, and ended-up ordering an IWB model for my EZ9, and this holster has a metal belt clip. Anyone familiar with the Urban Carry LockLeather product?

WTP broken belt clip. Great holster, belt clip needs redesigning, imo.

That’s a nice looking IWB I’m very partial to leather. I ordered an IWB awhile back from a holster maker I’ve used many times however my wait time stretched out to 4 months so I canceled it.

Yep, hoping the LockLeather works, as it states it has a bit of kydex in it, for stiffness of opening I'm guessing.

I would have cancelled also if wait time turned to 4 months.

Curious how that works out for you - keep us posted, looks like a nice piece of kit. I'm shopping for something basic for my new hellcat - don't want to spend too much up front, in case I end up adding a light or laser at some point...but that does look nice.

Will keep posted. It is a decent price, especially when compared with other [leather] brands on the market.

Main thing for me (I'm used to kydex from Alien, for my XD-s) is re-holstering. I like leather but want something that will keep its shape when empty.

I have an XDS9, and have the Alien Gear ShapeShifter 4.0 rig for IWB/OWB Belt Slide, and just find them uncomfortable and bulky. Could just be me. I like the quick concenience of the easy on/off of a single belt clip design. I found the AG IWB design to be a pita when donning/doffing for me personally, but sure it works well for others. Could just be my build (6'1" 199lbs), and how it rides on my body.

Wow, just checked my email, and the Urban Carry holster has shipped! Just ord'd it yesterday around 4:30pm (Central). I think they're located in TN, and I'm in KY, so shouldn't take too long to receive it. :)

I agree with you on Alien Gear, they make their holsters to big. It’s great when any company can ship quickly. I’m also in Kentucky.

Rec'd the Urban Carry LockLeather (IWB) holster today, and it's my first leather holster. Stiff, and has a nice snug fit, and also had an adjustable retention screw. Read somewhere (here maybe?) to put the pistol in a sandwich bag (Ziplock-like) and insert/remove the pistol for awhile to "work" it in and "fit" the leather better. Did that for awhile, and then took it for a test ride (w/o the baggie :)) to run an errand. Fairly comfortable (imo) compared to kydex.

Hello ........,

"Thank you for your recent Order from Urban Carry.

Due to overwhelming demand many of all new Lock Leather and G3 holsters have been placed on back order including the one you purchased. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Rest assured we are feverishly making more. Each holster is hand made in Tennessee by a third-generation, Mennonite leather crafter so it does take a little time but know that the quality is unmatched. We do appreciate your patience and understanding."

I like the customer service, but the thing that stood out to me is who is making the holster. That right there tells me quality, hand-made work, not some assembly line machine zipping through a conveyor belt full of leather swatches.

I'm 6'4" 195lb, and the on/off for my Alien IWB is easy-peasy. Pants on, belt through loops. Holster in, fingertip to pull belt hooks open, and push down to clip to belt. Button fly, buckle belt, insert firearm. Removal is even easier - hook a finger under the belt hook, pull it out to clear the bottom of the belt and lift. Repeat for second hook. It is much easier with a proper gun belt - I have a 1.5" nylon duty belt as well as a 1.5" heavy leather belt and the on/off is just as easy in slacks, jeans, or cargo shorts. Anything with the proper belt, and it goes on and off easily.

Finally rec'd the Urban Carry LockLeather OWB holster. Following the tracking #, it was in a post office just 45 miles from here for 5 days. Doesn't make much sense to me, but at least it got here.

This holster is down-right comfortable! Got the retention adjusted, and wore it around the house (w/pistol inserted) pretty much the entire day to start breaking it in. Not a bad deal for just $59.

Sounds like my Trijicon HD sights - ordered from DE, they went to OK (!), then back to MD (yes...that's right)...where they sat in a facility for TEN days. No updates at all. Then I get a text alert that I should have them that day...and they showed up that night.

USPS - our tax dollars at work.

Yep, sounds familiar. I recall the tracking of the holster went from TN (where it's made), then to Ga, then to IN to sit there for 5 days, then truck it 45 miles South to our post office here in KY to deliver to me.
