The only Soldier who was executed for a strictly military offense since the Civil War was Slovik. He was executed for desertion on Jan 31 1945

This POS was tried and sentenced in IS District court. Believe it or not the Federal Bureau of Prisons has a large percentage of military inmates that for whatever reason were tried within US District court. BOP also has an MOU to conduct any military executions. We had an Ops order several years ago under President Bush 43 for a guy named Brooks that was a convicted murder/rapist. We were picking him p off the Army Chinooks and transporting him to the execution chamber but he received a stay at 24 hours prior to an arrival

Nope got a stay and we never heard anything else. I retired right when they did the last batch of Federal inmates in 2020/21 so I don’t follow it that close but k ow no Military inmates ever came up.
