US Army special operators take first place in international sniper competition

This year’s competition ran March 21-25 and featured teams from across the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Secret Service and the Coast Guard, as well as international participants from Ireland, Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland.

Yeah not a good look for those protecting members of the current administration.
In all fairness, do you think the secret service trains to engage moving targets beyond a thousand yards. I'm thinking that they probably train against barricaded targets , perhaps in body armor at ranges inside 300 yards. I'd bet a nickel, none of their elite has DOPE outside of 500 yards. Just my .02 cents worth.
 
90% of a LE sniper team's function is to provide overwatch, and gather and provide intelligence. LEO snipers for the most part not full time snipers-they perform other LEO duties and thus do not have unlimited time to spend behind the gun. One more aspect of LEO sniper duties is that they would rarely take a shot beyond 100 yards. I am not in the least surprised the USA team did so well-it's what they do.

Agreed, but the lost out to the Coasties 🤣
