Also, FBI background checks with firearms in June exceeded 2.57 million, an uptick from April and May.
However, the June tally falls short of the March background checks, which eclipsed 3.08 million.

Factoring in the FBI info with background checks, the National Sports Shooting Foundation (NSSF) estimates the adjusted number of gun sales for June totaled 1.382 million — an 8.1% increase over June 2021.

Good to know people are still arming up. I watched a short clip shooting the IL 4th of July parade yesterday. Guy got off 70 shots. I want to know where all the armed citizens were that could have put a stop to it. ...Oh yeah, Chicagoland suburb... Gun control capital of the country...

i'll tell you how, it infringes on the rights of lawful citizens, all the while the thugs for whatever reason, don't obey the laws.

Illinois CCW off limits for mass gatherings. As most of us who have went through the training we do follow rules in order to not run afoul of said laws no matter how insane. One other reason not to take laws into your hands unless forced into life and death is LEO's coming to the scene will shoot first and apologize AFTER they kill you dead....
Apparently the suspect also dressed as a woman to blend into the chaos.

Any public gathering or special event conducted on property open to the public that requires the issuance of a permit from the unit of local government, provided this prohibition shall not apply to a licensee who must walk through a public gathering in order to access his or her residence, place of business, or vehicle

When you look at practically any of the mass shooting you can ask yourself that question for practically for practically every one of them. With the massive numbers of legal gun owners and people licensed to carry you would think someone would fireback, but it just doesn’t happen. Jack Wilson, who stopped the church shooting, is clearly an outlier and doesn’t even make a blip in the stats. What does this tell us about human behavior? That perhaps when the SHTF people look out for them and theirs first, which is completely understandable. God forbid, I should ever be in that situation, but if I am I’m going to be a good witness.

As I said, gun control capital of the country. Last I checked, there were a ton of venues and circumstances you cannot carry in IL and people are up in arms about NY and CA. We’ve been under this for decades.

We have our current government spending/sending arms overseas to a place that is giving these arms to their civilians to go to battle against their country’s illegal invasion, at the same time our government telling its own citizenry their intention is going to ban arms.

As for the doj fbi, they’re still compiling covid vaccination records so the analytics are a bit behind. Tracking down the non compliant will need some cross-referencing. You now can see why and how backlogged they are.
