I've been on the Missouri a few times, the Albacore and the Midway as a tourist. Missouri is awe-inspiring, subs are too scary to me, feels like a lobster trap!
when i was younger and in the Caveboy Scouts (long before the Boy Scouts was enacted), i went to nearby Mass, to visit the USS Massachusetts. to me, that was an awesome trip, being on the very same ship as our brave service people.

as a youth, i was heavy into all military movies, cuz the bravest man alive was John Wayne

in later years, the seaport got the PT 109, and a sub.

going into the sub, with it's close quarters and forever scent of machine oil, nearly made me throw up.
