Watch perfection?

Just for the watch guys basically.

Naturally, perfection is entirely in the eye of the beholder, and really, is anything or anyone perfect? Of course not. That said after wearing this watch for 3 months then sending it off for a movement cleaning and tuning which took another three I find several things wearing it again.

First, I missed it. Not being at a loss for watches I like this is something I do not often encounter.

Second I find the size, which is only 38 mm in a world of 45 plus normal sizes, to be one of the most comfortable sizes I have found. Add a nice thickness for a bit of heft and wrist presence I find it is unmatched by almost anything else I have worn.

Next it's an automatic. Nothing beats the sweep of the second hand of a nice automatic movement. And with a bit of care an auto will last forever.

Next I find it as at home on a casual Nato strap as it is all dressed up on a stainless rice bead bracelet. This makes it great for a day at the beach, its a a dive watch right, or your daughters wedding.

Lastly I find the Pepsi bezel and black face easy reading and visually appealing. Plus one of the first Pepsis I remember seeing was worn by Tom Selleck on Magnum and I fell for the look way back then.

I thought it was going to be a GLOCK watch, but today's the 1st ;) . I know when it comes to February it's be off also along with the other months with 30 days. Just pestering you

The real Glock watches are titanium, the wrist band is plastic. Comes in two colors too.

Lol I stand corrected, lol. The post was in jest. I really was not aware that Glock branded a watch and might guess neither did Texas.

Rather like the pistol, i am sure they are great but not exactly in my wheel house. But thank you for increasing my horological knowledge. :)

I go back farther than Magnum PI and like this watch-

Sean-Connery-wearing-Rolex-Submariner-6538.jpg

The larger / heavier models helped my follow through when skeet shooting :)

Saw one auction for $180,000 a couple of years ago, way out my price range!

(after viewing this tread earlier every web page has been showing ads for watches today :) )

Nice watch, love James Bond. I had one very similar but sold it a number of years ago along with my other more expensive watches like a BP 50 Fathoms.

I started before Magnum too that was just where I learned to appreciate the Pepsi bezel. My real watch interest was formed by my first watch I bought for myself. In 73 or 4 while in high school I bought a used Bulova Snorkle to learn to dive with. The one in the upper left in fact. All the watches I saved have some form of emotional bond or meaning, or I simply enjoy wearing.

Nice little collection, especially since they have sentimental value. I enjoy a watch, have basically my entire life. Well at least since i got my first watch for Christmas. I remember it came in a plastic ball filled with water. Started a lifetime of dive watch love lol.

And I really do not want to dig out my cell phone every time I want to look at the time.

I'm rarely in a position that I need to know the time exactly and there's not a clock around or a phone handy. Even in the days before cell phones I never wore a watch. Right now I'm trying to think back to how I knew it was lunch time or quitting time back before cell phones or when my phone was a Motorola bag phone. I guess I turned the key in the truck and looked at the radio.

I am jewelry intolerant. I can't do bracelets, necklaces or rings. My wedding ring is a tattoo.
