I'm sorry but when I saw this I decided that the author (Not Javbike) really didn't have anything to say that I need to do hear

Why? Interesting attitude, one can determine all that without reading the entire article from one small part because perhaps one does not personally like a choice in pistols or holster.

If that were the case it would be worthless for me to read anything where the author at one time used a Glock or AWIB carry. Obviously such a person knows nothing that I might find useful.

I read the entire article. My initial impression based on the author using that carry set up (Although admittedly it appears he moved on to better equipment) wasn't changed by what I read.

1. In general I don't really have an issue with the overall theme of the article which appears to be if you're going to carry a handgun there are various different ways to do it. Here are some of them. My issue is with some of the author's equipment choices.

Now it may have been a stock photo but the very first belly band holster that he showed, did no one else notice that the butt of that handgun was at least 3 inches away from the woman's midsection? Do you really think that that would have been concealed with anything other than a parka over it?

The Crossbreed.

Before I say anything else let me be honest and let you know that I have Sciatica and anything IWB aggravates it. I don't carry in the waistband.

So if we're using the crossbreed holster as a tuckable option, I've "caught" (if you want to call it that) multiple people who were absolutely convinced that their gun was "concealed" while they're walking around with those stupid clips clearly visible on their belt.

IMO if you are carrying your gun in a crossbreed as a tuckable you're not caring concealed. Of course if you're carrying it as an in the waistband holster with a cover garment over it that issues alleviated.

If you watch this video Corriea lists some of his issues with the hybrid holsters, specifically The Crossbreed. One of the issues is they tend to wear out very quickly because the leather wears out quicker than The Kydex which apparently leads to retention issues and they don't really stand up to hard use.

Also I can't think of a reputable trainer that recommends them. That tells me something. So when I see somebody who's claiming to be a reputable trainer or recommending them it makes me question his expertise.

Please see the video above for my opinion of the Taurus 24/7.

I'm not bashing Taurus just for the sake of bashing them. Taurus handguns they have a long reputation for , at best, hit or miss quality.

I don't like Taurus handguns because I've never had a good experience with a Taurus handgun.

I've seen more than one go through repated malfunctions in training classes and I've heard several reputable trainers reccomend against them.

That's why I don't like them

I can’t imagine carrying in a tuck without a cover garment. Not just the clips would show, the gun would show. You’d have to be daft. I don’t know how much you know about the work I do but it entails a lot of jumping in and out of street holes, hand digging around gas mains and scaling them, cutting them, capping them, tapping them, etc. It’s physical work. I carried a .45 Shield in a mini tuck every day for many years. That holster still works perfectly well and the retention is fine. If it holds up to sweaty, physical labor for that many years and still does its job, which it does, I would say all your reputable trainers don’t know what they’re talking about. I know a bunch of cops that carry off duty that way too. And military guys. I believe them and my own personal experience more than I believe that fat dude in the video up there that no one has ever heard of.

No one. I repeat, no one, except for a very few law enforcement or die hard gun enthusiast, will notice two little metal clips on a waste band and know someone is carrying
Society just isn't that observant
And every single waist worn holster in existence has clips. And if you’re wearing an IWB holster you are gonna have a t-shirt or other article of clothing that covers it. Phone cases, pocket knives, all the crap people hook to their belts?

Or a criminal that's looking for somebody that's got a gun.

If your method of concealment is predicated on "Oh nobody will notice anyway." You need to find a new method of concealment.

That’s a broad brush. I’m betting I could see one on you. Or anyone carrying OWB. If I’m looking for it.

Besides we’ve already determined zero people are carrying IWB without a cover garment.
