I had nothing to do with firearms when I was active duty, but I can guarantee that my sailors kept track of their tools, especially the power tools. Hard to do your job if you don't have the equipment, no matter if it's a grinder or a pistol. It has to really suck being the one who has to report a firearm loss though.

If they didnt, we would have empty prisons. Military is no exception
