Weird useless knowledge

I know this is useless knowledge to everyone but one of the reasons that made me start going with Springfield is that I pass the mothership every time I go to the range. I do live in Illinois and travel to Iowa to go shoot. When I got my Hellcat PRO I almost got off of 80 to tell the people at the mothership thank you.

Maybe you should have pursued a DJ career at a radio station.
I once ( well, more than once actually) got into it with well known St. Louis DJs from K-She'95 ( oldest continually operating rock and roll station in the country incidentally).

One time this DJ named Radio Rich was on the air telling everyone that the working title for the Beatles song Eleanor Rigby was "Scrambled Eggs". I called him up and told him it was Yesterday that had that working title. He was a complete douche about it. He said something to the effect of, " I guess you know more about it than Ringo Starr does huh". I told him that if it was Ringo that told him that then yes, I do. And I was right. You can look it up. Radio Rich is a tool.

The other time was in Forest Park at the K-She Kite Fly, which was an annual concert/party in the park. That year the bands were Jonathon Edwards and Shooting Star. Great show. Anyway, I was there with my smoking hot girlfriend. Jackie Miner, mmm, Damn she was something. We were I think 16. And there was this DJ called JC Corcoran who is an absolute D-bag. He kept hitting on her. He had to have been 30 at the time. The first time I pointed out to him that she was 16 years old. A little while later he did it again. So I walked up to him and told him if he even looked at her again I was gonna break his jaw. He started to run his mouth and I went for him. About 6 security guys grabbed me. I got roughed up a little, but not by that loser. And at least one of those guys regretted it the next day.

And there was a 3rd time I was indirectly involved with a K-She DJ. I was walking across the Meramac st. viaduct over Gravois and accidentally kicked an empty baby food jar which went over the edge. It hit the windshield of a car. It was a total accident, but I was a long hair and knew what was good for me so I got the F out of there real quick like. Later that day I was listening to the radio and I hear Al Hofer, the DJ, talking about how some punk threw a rock through his windshield off the Meramac Viaduct.

I also had a good friend called Bruce who had a killer Monday morning radio show on KDHX. All early metal. Think Judas Priest off Rocka Rolla( 1974) and early Sabbath. KDHX is public radio and obviously controlled by very liberal people. Now Bruceman had a FB page and he was, eh, not a liberal. I told him repeatedly not to talk about politics on that page. I told him to start a personal page and do not disclose his actual name. He didn't though and after some political arguments over Obama he was unceremoniously fired from his job.

And that is all of my DJ stories. Well, there is one more, but I won't go into that one.

I have no clue what’s actually made at that Springfield facility. I’m sure someone here could chime in. It would definitely be cool to visit and take a tour if they are offered.
I’m a dork , I know.
I love to take tours of manufacturing facilities. I’ve been on a few auto plant tours, a few boat manufacturers tours, forklift manufacturing tour, pharmaceuticals tours, air filter manufacturing tour, Gibson Guitars tour, beer bottling facility’s, precious metals refinery tour. Coolest thing I’ve ever seen in person was an EAF and LMF furnace a steel plant where I worked. My wife’s all into screaming house wives throwing drinks on each other. That 💩 stresses me out. I could spend all day watching that show “how it’s made”.
So yeah, if you’re that close maybe you can take a tour of the place.

I am a walking arsenal of useless knowledge. Particularly with regard to musicians and bands between say 1962 and 1979. At one point I was unbeatable at naming the album and the year for nearly every song that came on the radio.

What purpose could that possibly serve ?
It’s natures’ way of keeping your synapses firing and in great shape so that when you are a little old, bent over bass player and a 1969 Porsche 911 blasting Pink Floyd’s Meddle pulls up outside your place and a painfully handsome old gent with silver hair down to his shoulders gets out, the scent of Spanish Leather filling the air, the words F-ng Simon, he’s still a Porcupine will slide across your lips. 😎😎😎

New location or old location?

It is funnny you mention Meddle though. I choose Meddle and Atom Heart Mother for my returning to work after a two week vacation music on Monday. Something about San Tropez makes me want to lay on a sofa somewhere. :)

Somehow I suspect you had Fearless in mind when you typed this though.

“Fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd, smiling.”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
