Grown hog in Texas has no natural predator in the state that will take it on. Big cats and coyotes, dont mess with a big hog. I’ve seen a big boar chase 3 coyotes.
Hogs go where they want, when they want.

We have them in our area too. Game and Fish says they need to be trapped in large groups because the reproduce faster than you can thin them by shooting. Feral hogs do a lot of damage.

Up to 3 litters a year with avg around 8-10 piglets a litter. If you have 15 sows in a group, math adds up quick.

That's what they do to small trees the paper company plants at our deer lease, they will uproot hundreds of trees in one night. they beg us to shoot every one we see. and we do, but we don't make a dent in them. you have to put a massive slaughter on them to even break even. you guys in texas have it bad, i sure wish i could go on one of them helicopter hunts down your way.

Have seen some videos of them being trapped in groups using Tannerite. Looks like a good use for it. Just sayin'

I've seen a couple of hogs(and coyotes) between Raymondville and Port Mansfield on Highway 186(South Texas) during the day. I see ranchers out there all the time but I've never heard gunshots so I don't know if they're trapping them or shooting them at night.

Males are nasty tasting at any age.
Large hogs of both sexes can taste foul and usually get drug off to the edge of the field

We butcher the sows with a poacher cut. I like the backstrap. I dump the males and carcases in a ravine. The buzzards and coyotes and occasional bears take care of cleanup

What NV are you using?

I have been watching Pulsar for a long time the digisight models, N450, N550, N750, N960, etc. but they stopped those.

Yup, the boars get drug away from the tree stand are coyote and buzzard food.

Works outstanding. Great clarity & distance. Like an HD Tv. Had it for years. They DC’d them for a newer version.
I dont like the “scope” ones that look like a 3x9 scope. Too limited field of view
