What Generation is my Glock?

Gen4’s had the RSA issues at first, they corrected it, I never did like RTF on the grips especially if you carried one as a CCW gun, frame would rub you and give you a basically a road rash type on your skin, I to prefer the Gen3 versions.

I like the Gen 4 models myself. Carry a Gen 4 model 22 on duty and I have a Gen 4 model 19 w the black slide and green frame. I recently bought a 17 and 19 and 22 all 3 Gen 5's and the more I shoot the Gen 5's the more I like em. I was never a fan of the finger grooves although they do fit and align up for me.

Gen5’s do have a much better trigger then the previous generations, when I was still working at my sheriffs dept, and as a Glock armorer, I rarely had to do anything to the gen3’s, mostly just replace recoil spring assembly’s and maybe the sights. Gen3’s and Gen4’s are the same inside, now the Gen5’s are totally different breed, really like them a lot.

I don’t think they will, the Gen5’s went back to the single pin holding the locking block in place, the previous generations of 3 and 4 had 2 pins doing this, which made that area a good bit stronger then the single pin design. But you never know
Bummer, I did not consider that. I dug this old thing out of the safe . The 2 pins apparently were on the earliest of the 20’s.

I may be mistaken, but I think Glock started the 2 pins on the late Gen2’s maybe during the transition to the Gen3’s, I can’t remember though.
